Seattle Aquarium

The Monday following our trip to Arizona, I met up with some friends at the Seattle Aquarium. 

You know you have good friends when they say "Hi, I'm going to steal your baby" and then they proceed to entertain him throughout the entire trip.

We visited the tide pools, but didn't partake in any touching. I have no doubt that Egan would have tried to chew on everything!

The jellyfish were quite mesmerizing.

But, unfortunately, Egan has a ways to go before he's the same height as a sixgill shark.

He loved the fish tanks and the fish loved him! This is one of many times they swam right up to the glass to say hello.

Egan was clearly happy with all the attention he received!

This seal was absolutely hilarious - he kept posing for pictures and came right up to the glass to play with Egan.

After the Aquarium, we headed into downtown for lunch. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was kind of ironic that we ended up getting sushi... :-)

Too much...

FUN. :-)

Have you ever gotten to the point, where there's almost too much to update on and so it never happens...

I feel like that's the relationship I have with this blog after every trip or adventure. There's too much. So I'm going to try and blitz blog over the next few days to catch up...bear with me!

I'm going to take you back to early September. It was a beautiful Saturday morning...

The boys had to haul our supplies (food, beer, clothes, beer, soda, beer...the best part, Tim and I don't drink beer!) with help from our resident kid.

We were going sailing!

Our destination was Glorietta Bay. Our mission - swimming and lounging.

And some showing off - they were in sync almost perfectly.

I tried to partake, but bombed. (Pun intended.)

Food was brought and had by all...

And after four hours of hilarity and relaxation, it was time to head back to the marina. Here's Captain J.

We ended the day by waving to friends who had to work on the weekend - see those white boxes/trailers, that's where Tim spends his days.

Frisbee Golfing

Being open to new challenges, Tim and I went Frisbee Golfing with some friends today.  I assume that many of you may not know what Frisbee Golf is, so I've put together a little visual guide to help explain it.

Step 1: Take one of these...

Step 3: Throw your frisbee with all you've got towards said goal...

Step 4: Realize that sometimes things may not go where you expected...

Step 5: Find "misguided" frisbees...

Step 7: Remind yourself that one foot has to stay on the spot where your frisbee landed, leading to awkward and uncomfortable throwing positions...

Step 8: Celebrate when you get to the end of the hole!

New Games, Old Games

Tim and I have been busy the past few weekends with commitments to our friends, family, and the play.  Thankfully, we've managed to keep everything entertaining by learning some new games and improving on some of our awesome, but rarely used, skills.

First up, we had the opportunity to watch our friends and Japan neighbors get married a few weekends ago.  Before the reception really got into full swing, they had bocce ball set up for guests.  I was wearing tall heels and opted out of participating, but Tim could barely contain his excitement (and competitive spirit)!

 They had this little girl tossing the ball that they were aiming for...

 which is one of the reasons why they trudged all around this field!

I had warned the other players (all Tim's co-workers) that once he gets competitive, they have no hope...and I was right.  He walked away from the game victorious!

Then last weekend, we spent the afternoon with our friend, Adam, in Tacoma.  We had previously gone bowling on base, but Adam felt like it wasn't a conducive environment to show off his bowling skills.  Little did we know that his average hovers around 190-200...way better than the both of us! We had fun anyway...

Tim was all smiles in the beginning...

 So was Adam, and I was doing pretty well too...

There were a few missed pins...

But then I had the opportunity to break my personal record of 156... 

 And I bombed.  Three-gutter-balls-in-a-row kind of bombed.  

Luckily,  I still beat Tim 2 out of 3 games.  I don't need to mention Adam's score...

A Movie Under the Stars

One of my favorite summertime activities is the Drive-In!  So, with a few prayers for continued good weather, Tim & I headed to our local drive-in for the Toy Story 3/Prince of Persia double-feature!

We decided to try something new and make a comfy blanket and pillow oasis in our trunk/backseat area...

It worked REALLY well!  

Tim cooked up some popcorn for us at home and then proceeded to eat most of it before the movie even started...

 I took this picture at 8:30pm...we still had around an hour before the first movie even started, but what a good place to sit! :-)

 Of course, once the show got started, the harvest moon was in our line of sight the entire time, and boy, was it bright! (My camera didn't take the best picture, but see that bright spot just right of the screen...)

And finally, we had to get ice cream between the shows...at midnight! 

Now a little plea...

The drive-in where Tim and I used to go on dates in S. Everett was recently purchased and torn down to make room for a new hospital.  While I think hospitals are great, another piece of American nostalgia no longer exists.  Did you know that there are only 7 remaining drive-ins in the state of Washington?  Did you know there used to be over 45 of these theaters in the Puget Sound area? June Showers and Pullman Adventures

June is shaping up to be one busy month for us!  The first weekend, I had the honor of hosting a bridal shower for my friend J in Ocean Shores.  While I co-hosted the shower, Tim took advantage of the great weather and went golfing with the groom!

A little background: About a year ago, J had invited me to spend the day gown shopping with her.  To start off our expedition, we filled up on cupcakes.  That day, J found the most amazing dress and, personally, I think cupcakes played a part in that.  How can you not have a good day shopping after cupcakes?!  In honor of that, I decided to forgo a cake and get cupcakes for the shower.

My co-host provided an amazing spread of crab dip, shrimp cocktail, salad, salmon, hummus, etc., etc.!

I don't think anyone went home hungry! 

We had to play the traditional toilet paper bride game:

The teams were determined by name tags, so from left to right, you have Disney Princesses, The Flinstones, and the cast of I Love Lucy.

While I don't know how she could possibly choose a winner from this group, J bestowed the honor of best T.P. bride to the Princesses.  

Of course, J left the party with quite a few gifts for married life and an excellent bow bouquet, for the rehearsal, made by the co-host's daughter and J's high school friend! 

The following Monday, I flew to Pullman to help S&J pack for their big cross-country move.  J was accepted to the doctoral program at UNC-Chapel Hill! Woot!  I am an expert packer thanks to the many times I've moved/packed (about 5 times - I lived in a different place every year of college).  In between packing and cleaning, we planned a trip to the cliffs.  J and I rode in S's car...it's a 2 seater, T-top...while he rode his motorcycle.  

And then we spent the evening laying on the floor of Martin Stadium watching The Blind Side! 

Overall, it was a productive and fun trip!  I had to leave the next morning, but they finished packing and are now on their way to North Carolina.  I'm currently looking into plane tickets and hoping that they find a way to drive up to D.C. to help us celebrate the Fourth of July!  ::hint, hint::
