Frisbee Golfing

Being open to new challenges, Tim and I went Frisbee Golfing with some friends today.  I assume that many of you may not know what Frisbee Golf is, so I've put together a little visual guide to help explain it.

Step 1: Take one of these...
Step 2: Find one of these...
Step 3: Throw your frisbee with all you've got towards said goal...

Step 4: Realize that sometimes things may not go where you expected...
Step 5: Find "misguided" frisbees...

Step 7: Remind yourself that one foot has to stay on the spot where your frisbee landed, leading to awkward and uncomfortable throwing positions...
Step 8: Celebrate when you get to the end of the hole!
Step 9: 17 more to go...

Don't worry, these pictures aren't all from one hole...that would have taken forever, this only took an hour or so.

A Family of Four*

Contrary to popular belief, Tim and I do have "children."

Our cars.

A few weeks ago, Tim and I purchased a new, used car...a beautiful 2007 Honda Civic Si!
We really lucked out...it had only been on the lot for a day and half, it's exactly what Tim wanted, it only had 13,000 miles, and it matches the Rogue!  As an added bonus, it's the same color as Tim's Impala.

It must have been Fate.

*Since I mentioned the Impala, I guess we are actually a family of 5, wait, 6.  Tim also has a 1940's Jeep Willy...what have I gotten myself into?!

**You can also see why when we do look into buying a house, we're going to need a garage.  Seriously.

Pancake Paparazzi

Last week I made some delicious Rocky Road Brownies for Tim to take to work and the recipe called for buttermilk.  Well, what do you do with leftover buttermilk??  MAKE PANCAKES!
But not just any pancakes...Grandma Betty's Buttermilk Pancakes.
Of course, the had to be documented in photo...little did I know Tim was thinking "paparazzi style."
But I got him back.
Once the batter was mixed, I put the pancakes on the griddle.  Tim thought my placement was a little unorganized...
But they sure turned out well!!
Tim tried a variety of toppings...peanut butter & syrup, PB&J, peanut butter and bacon...
But he still thought they were amazing!
And we both cleaned our plates!

New Games, Old Games

Tim and I have been busy the past few weekends with commitments to our friends, family, and the play.  Thankfully, we've managed to keep everything entertaining by learning some new games and improving on some of our awesome, but rarely used, skills.

First up, we had the opportunity to watch our friends and Japan neighbors get married a few weekends ago.  Before the reception really got into full swing, they had bocce ball set up for guests.  I was wearing tall heels and opted out of participating, but Tim could barely contain his excitement (and competitive spirit)!

Here Tim's lining up his first toss/shot...

Is anyone really that surprised that he won the first round??

They had this little girl tossing the ball that they were aiming for...

which is one of the reasons why they trudged all around this field!
I had warned the other players (all Tim's co-workers) that once he gets competitive, they have no hope...and I was right.  He walked away from the game victorious!

Then last weekend, we spent the afternoon with our friend, Adam, in Tacoma.  We had previously gone bowling on base, but Adam felt like it wasn't a conducive environment to show off his bowling skills.  Little did we know that his average hovers around 190-200...way better than the both of us! We had fun anyway...

Tim was all smiles in the beginning...

So was Adam, and I was doing pretty well too...

There were a few missed pins...

But then I had the opportunity to break my personal record of 156...
And I bombed.  Three-gutter-balls-in-a-row kind of bombed.

Luckily,  I still beat Tim 2 out of 3 games.  I don't need to mention Adam's score...

Another Opening, Another Show

Time has been FLYING around here lately.  I can't believe we've already had another weekend come and go since my last post.  Tim and I spent the weekend running around like chickens with their heads' cut off...why??  Because every night this weekend was spent at BCT...it was OPENING WEEKEND!  Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures from some of our other weekend/weekly events, but thanks to a local photographer, I can share some photos from our 2nd dress rehearsal with everyone!

WARNING: Contains Spoilers!!

My official headshot for this show!

In the event that you can't tell...I play a WAC (Women's Army Corp)

We're taken hostage in NYC by 14th-century long bowmen!

Marching, grudgingly, into Grand Fenwick National Forest

Taking down our father, a fellow hostage.

Perhaps we've had a change of heart?

A big thanks to the family & friends who came this weekend!  I look forward to seeing more of my people in the audience in the coming weeks!  Buy Tickets Here

An Epic Adventure

I'll let the photos speak for themselves (with a little help)...

Suited up and ready for the day!

 "THIS IS AWESOME!"

 Right in the face...

 Smile for the camera!

 "Oh snap! We're going over..."

"OH MAN! OH MAN! OH MAN!"

 "PATTI'S OUT! SHE FELL OUT!"

 Patti: "Gotta get my oar"
Everyone else: "FORGET YOUR OAR! GRAB MINE!"
Patti: "No, they said to hold on to my oar"

"Ok, no someone dunk and giggle her out of the water..."

SUCCESS! Aaaannnnddd now we're stuck on a rock.  Awesome.

 "EVERYONE TO THE BACK!"

"WE'RE FREE!"

"Paddle Positions STAT!"

 With our guide Henry...

 Trusty boat #10

Nothing like ending a day, eating steak and corn on the cob, while sitting on a rock.
